Meet Jessie!

Meet Jessie!

My name is Jessie A. Franklin, a person in Long Term Recovery. I once walked a path shrouded in darkness. High school dropout, ensnared by substance use, and drowning in hopelessness. Life seemed devoid of purpose, and I clung to survival mode, even as it eroded everything good within me.

Amidst the chaos, a beacon emerged—a son. For the first two years, I was physically present but emotionally absent. My heart yearned for change, for redemption.

Sober living in Georgia became my lifeline. Four months of introspection, healing, and determination. I returned to Lexington, South Carolina, ready to rewrite my story. After an accidental Overdose i decided to finally give all of myself to my recovery.

Recovery wasn’t easy. It demanded my all. I immersed myself—daily meetings, service work, and listening to those who’d conquered their demons. A new network embraced me, and I found belonging.

My passion ignited. I trained as a Certified Peer Support Specialist (CPSS) and discovered my true calling—a recovery coach. Guiding others became my purpose, my lifeline, I reclaimed my education, earning my GED. But it didn’t stop there—I shared my story at events, schools, and even my high school. Midlands schools now echo my journey.

Today, I wear the badge of fatherhood, and recovery with pride. A child of God, living proof that light can pierce the darkest nights. Recovery isn’t just possible; it’s cool, empowering, and beautiful.

I extend my hand to others because someone once pulled me from the abyss. Gratitude fuels my purpose. Three years sober, I stand as a testament: anything is possible. Have faith. Seek your own truth. Let recovery weave its magic. Life awaits, and it’s more beautiful than you can imagine.

sincerely, Jessie Franklin - A person who overcame the most difficult battle of his life, finding himself along the way from the darkness to light. RECOVERY IS POSSIBLE.
